JOB DESCRIPTION

SNELLING is working with an established and growing company to recruit an experienced Controller who will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, managing capital-intensive assets, and ensuring financial compliance.  Requirements to be considered for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a CPA license and experience working at one of the following type business: a Big 4 accounting firm, a publicly traded company or a PE backed organization.
  
This position will be a direct hire, meaning that SNELLING would work with you through the consideration and interview process and if an offer is extended, employment would begin on the client employer’s payroll as their employee.
  
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead comprehensive accounting, taxation, and payroll functions, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Oversee the month-end closing process efficiently and effectively.
  • Supervise and develop a team of over seven accounting professionals.
  • Strengthen and improve internal financial controls to support anticipated business growth.
  • Direct special initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Coordinate annual audits and maintain compliance with banking standards.
  • Manage and ensure accuracy and compliance of all taxation-related activities.

  
Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional experience within a Big Four accounting firm, publicly traded company, or private equity-backed enterprise is required to be considered for this role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and an active CPA certification is also required.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing accounting teams or working within a large, high-standard accounting operation.
  • Openness to relocate to Tyler, Texas, and enthusiasm to join a high-performing leadership team focused on growth and innovation.  Priority will be given to candidates already residing in the East Texas area.

  
Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
  • Background in mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence processes.
  • Familiarity with electrical utilities, telecommunications, engineering, or consulting sectors.
