SNELLING is seeking a Materials Testing/Laboratory Technician to support field and laboratory testing for soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials. This role assists a well-established engineering and consulting firm that provides geotechnical services, construction materials testing, environmental consulting, and drilling operations across a wide range of infrastructure and commercial projects.

This Materials Testing/Laboratory Technician position will be temp-to-hire, meaning that SNELLING would work with you through the consideration and interview process and SNELLING would be your employer for a probationary period upon an offer being accepted.  Pay will depend on experience and be in the range of $17.50 to $20/hour.  Comprehensive benefits are available upon full-time hire.
Key Responsibilities of the Materials Testing/Laboratory Technician

• Perform standardized tests on soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt in both field and laboratory settings.
• Conduct sampling, density testing, and other quality-control procedures at project sites.
• Prepare and document test results accurately using computer-based systems.
• Support construction materials engineering activities, including inspections and verification testing.
• Maintain equipment, follow safety guidelines, and work independently to complete assigned tasks.

Qualifications of the Materials Testing/Laboratory Technician

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Prior materials testing or construction-related experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills for logging results and maintaining accurate digital records.
• High attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Reliable, professional, and comfortable working in varied outdoor and laboratory environments.
