Civil Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

SNELLING is working with an established and growing civil engineering firm to locate a qualified Civil Engineer to join their team.  This company specializes in a diverse range of project types, including commercial site development, residential subdivisions, and municipal infrastructure such as wastewater and utility systems. Their continued success is built on strong client relationships, sound engineering principles, and delivering practical, real-world solutions.

This position will be a direct hire, which means that while SNELLING is leading the recruiting and evaluation process, the client would be the employer upon an offer of employment.  This is a full-time, in-office role with a comprehensive benefits package.  Compensation is competitive and will depend on experience.

Position Summary
We are seeking a Civil Engineer who enjoys technical design work and values direct interaction with clients and regulatory agencies. This position is ideal for someone who prefers a hands-on role focused on project execution and client service rather than managing teams. The successful candidate will be instrumental in preparing designs, coordinating with public officials, and supporting projects from concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities of the Civil Engineer

  • Develop engineering designs, calculations, and technical reports for a wide range of civil projects including site development, subdivisions, wastewater systems, and drainage.
  • Prepare construction plans, specifications, and permit documents in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Communicate directly with clients, city and county officials, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to project coordination, cost estimating, and occasional field support during construction.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation in accordance with internal and external requirements.

Qualifications of the Civil Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or an active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydraulic modeling software as well as other civil design tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to clients and regulatory personnel.
  • A service-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality, technically sound solutions.
  • Experience in land development, stormwater management, flood studies, utility design, or wastewater projects is preferred.

What We Offer

  • A collaborative work environment with an emphasis on technical excellence and client satisfaction.
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • A culture that values work-life balance.
  • Opportunities for professional growth through mentorship, training, and diverse project exposure.
