Vehicle Fabrication/Modifier Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

SNELLING is currently seeking a Vehicle Fabrication/Modifier Technician in the East Texas area.  The primary function of this position is to perform the installation and assembly of wiring systems and machine controls during the manufacture of custom equipment. This is a temp-to-hire position on first shift that requires the ability to work overtime on Fridays as production requires.  Benefits are provided upon hire with the client.  Pay rate of $21/hr.
  
This position will be a temp-to-hire, meaning that SNELLING would work with you through the consideration and interview process and be your employer for a probationary period upon an offer being accepted. Responsibilities of the Vehicle Fabrication/Modifier Technician position include:

  • Reads and works from blueprints and other schematic drawings to repair or fabricate custom products.
  • Installs, fabricates, and assembles wiring and machine controls.
  • When needed, reads and understands quality control manuals and testing specifications to obtain data needed to test or calibrate specific devices.
  • As needed, disassembles machine to determine cause of defective operation or failure.
  • Perform work that requires very heavy lifting (75lbs +), climbing of ladders, bending, stooping and working in confined areas for long periods of time.

  
Qualifications to be considered for the Vehicle Fabrication/Modifier Technician position include:

  • Must have experience in fabrication and use of power and hand tools.  Experience in welding and carpentry is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Prior experience working in a role that required independent decision making
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required
  • Valid Driver’s License required
