Master Scheduler

JOB DESCRIPTION

SNELLING is currently seeking candidates with production planning and scheduling experience for a Master Scheduler opportunity with a a client in the East Texas area.  The primary function of the Master Scheduler position is to facilitate and initiate all actions related to the supply and demand for projects through the creation and maintenance of a valid Master Schedule that effectively balances available resources and capacity with demand.  In other words, make sure the facility is getting the most done it can with the available resources!  This role is open because the current Master Scheduler is being promoted, so the the candidate hired for this role will be able to use them as a resource during the training period.  

This Master Scheduler position will be direct hire, meaning that while SNELLING would work with you through the consideration and interview process, the client would be the employer upon an offer being accepted. Responsibilities of the Master Scheduler will include:

  • Develop, implement, and manage to a set of key indicators that can be used as an internal benchmark for the continuous improvement of the scheduling and shop floor functions to ensure that the company maintains a competitive edge in the marketplace.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce the policies and procedures which define the actions and/or guidelines that must be utilized to create, maintain, and execute a Master Scheduling process.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics that will lead to improved schedule and shipping performance.
  • Ensure that the Master Schedule is used to drive all company priorities in sales, manufacturing, product development, and finance.
  • Proper and timely response to past-due completion dates.
  • Proper and timely response to rescheduling requirements due to material or capacity shortages.

Qualifications to be considered for the Master Scheduler position include:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience scheduling/planning in a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong MS Office proficiency, specifically with using MS Excel.
  • Familiarity with the oil & gas industry is a plus
  • Experience in managing concurrent projects with aggressive timelines.
  • Willingness to work overtime, generally 50-55 hours a week.
  • APICS or PMP certification is a plus.
